TWG.. Singapore's pride...

Meet Nana at ION after work to have our monthly indulgence in the 'Heaven' section of ION.

TWG, started by our very own Singaporean, is a place i would highly reccomend for a lazy afternoon. An ambience like no other, one would be lost in his/her own world, thinking that he/she is on a holiday trip in Europe.

Tea selection like no other, 7 full pages of different types of tea. Depending on preference, they have someone readily available to recomend teas suited to each individual's preference.

Nana's White Night Jasmine Tea and my choice of Geisha Blossom. We love the fine china they used. Not to mention the lovely scones they sell. Chocolate foundant cake a tad too rich for our liking.

Oh.. wat a joy it would be, to hold lovely sunday teas there every week.

See my pot of tea? The gold covering is actuali a mitt like thingy designed to keep my tea warm. The insides of the gold cover is lined with black cushion, acting as an insulator.

Back to 'Hell' section of the ION as I wasnt feeling particularly full. My mouth was itchy for some junk food.. Kekeke.. Gindaco Tako balls we had.

And next, my fav, cheese sausage balls with mayo! I love gogo frank!

See the glee in my face? We noticed a lady beside us having peikin duck and roast pork takeaways and that's the next thing i'll try when I'm there..

ION's great.. there's great food on the 'Heaven' levels and also from the 'Hell' levels. Which do I prefer? I prefer both.. coz I love pampering myself with nice food, and gorging myself with junk.. whahahaha...

Handburger~!

Rushed off after work to meet Ro for dinner before my facial. Told him no Handburger allowed coz cammie was with him.. kekeke.. But alas! We still had handburger. Clever me decided to have a try on the camera of his new hp.. Not bad pic quality i muz say!

The menu which is made up of papers of different length. It's quite tattered or rather used but it adds to the old school feeling.Wooden furnitures gave the restaurant a clean feel. However, the seats were far from comfy. Boxy like chairs that has no back rest causes me to slouch more than ever. Plus the seats are pretty close to each other, offering not much privacy if it is a crowded day.

My order of chicken caeser burger. It tasted a tad saltish coz of the bacon that is wrapped around a piece of chicken fillet. the melted cheese with the very tiny portion of mushroom is light and soft, the way I like it. Freshly toasted bun with margarine spread tasted crispy and buttery. Yum..
Ro ordered the sliders with are only available before 630pm as we were afraid I wont be able to finish my food coz i was not too hungry. His choice of The smoked duck burger (supposedly the best seller, has the indian tandoori taste), the beer battered dory and the handburger (beef). Not one to have beef, i skipped the handburger and had a taste of the fish n duck. I still prefer my chicky burger :)
Cam-whore time before eating.. kekeke.. not bad right? I mean the picture quality and not the kuku-looking guy behind me..
Make up all gone, cant be bothered to touch up since i'm goin for facial..
Mr Ro in a very good mood coz it's his off day today..

BTW, hor, after I went off for facial, Mr Ro went to paper market and spent about $40 there.. talk about hating scrapbooking.. la la la.. someone has to take his words back..

Babes Day Out!

Went Ion to meet Ash & Nicole for shopping and dinner. Within minutes of reaching Ion, Nicole bought a bangle from mphosis.. Kekeke.. that was before meeting me!

Den after, both of us went to GG5 to look at clutch bags coz I was looking for one and Nicole bot one from them recently and it was love at first sight! A nice leather clutch bag that is not too small and can fit my cammie and wallet in! At the same price as one i was looking at in Accessorize too! And of coz I grabbed it! LAST piece lor! Must buy!

Kekekeke.. Dear Ashley joined us after her pedi and we proceed to walk about and acc her to try on the dress that she's aiming in Warehouse.. Proceeded to Gusttimo for dinner as we were all famished and Ash was waiting for her fren to pass her the discount coupon for Warehouse.

Very nice alfresco dining with cool air blowing out from the pipes. A cosy little corner by the side of Ion that made all 3 of us feel relaxed and wished we can do tis every week! Ash was so relaxed she almost fell asleep lor! kekekeke..
Top Left, clockwise: Nicole's order of Gusttimo's Season Special: Crabmeat Pasta, Ashley's order of Bolognese (comes with 4 mozerella cheese balls), my order of carbonara (rich & creamy and not too saltish!) and our side for sharing: Crunchy Francese frittura (Shoestring fries covered with extra crisp exotic spices).
We were thinking the serving's like quite small but after finishing all up, we were pretty full! Nice!
Walked about, Ash got her warehouse dress (very nice!), bot my mphosis slipper while Nicole went to replace her bangle (i spoilt it while playing) and den proceed to Marina sq coz Ash needed to change the shoe she bot from Gripz the day before.

The sales assistants from Gripz are all ah lian with tattoo. One even had the side of her eyes tattooed with tiny stars to mimic glitter star glaze.. how weird is that? I think we stayed there for like an hour? coz almost non of the shoes are comfy.. most of them are pretty stiff and some are out of sizes. Ashley finally settled for a pair of leopard print heels which I feel is pretty cool and we went over to Suntec for drinks and snacks at Bakerz Inn.
My Fav chocolate profiteroles and molten chocolate cake.. A nice way to round out our babes day out!

Scrapbooking shops, Steamboat & Ice-Cream!

Today's scrapbook shop hopping day. Ro wanted to get some supplies and thus we went to MWL to shop around. Kuku Ro bad-mouthed MWL in the shop and got stares by others.. I like MWL.. they have the album that I wanted. Hope its still there on Tues as I didnt wan to waste the double stamps day :) Oh.. Glimmer mist galore! I am so getting one of them.

Proceeded to Bugis for steamboat as I'm having craving again.. keke.. I can never be sick of steamboat. House of Steamboat we went!

I stuffed myself silly with the japanese golden mushrooms, sliced pork and chicken, taopok, etc... I like! esp since they provide the red fermented beancurd that I can add to my soup. Ro absolutely hates it.. Oh, not to mention the sesame seed paste that I dip my meat into.. Absolutely wonderful.

Took like 4 times before i am satisfied with the pic of me. My dangerees was skewed, my smile is fake, my hair is horrible and finally I give up and settled for this.. whahaha..
A hugeass white xmas tree at bugis.. I personally feel xmas trees SHOULD be in GREEN! you might say ohh snow covered xmas tree thus its white? but i still feel it should be GREEN, maybe with abit of white frosting, but never totally white..

Pop by to Cityhall to visit Papermarket and satisfied Ro says yes, he finally can see what he wants to get and that MWL sucks.. NO way! i am MWL fan and i feel they ROCK! TOTALLY! kekekeke... in anycase he refuse to buy on tat day, citing reasons like he doesnt wan me to know wat he's goin to do. so I requested for ice cream..
Awww... feel so 'xin fu' when i sit on the sofa, eating my ice cream and watching the fountain.. Great seats u noe.. i am so going to ask Nana to go have ice cream with me there..

36 Frames & Dian Xiao Er..

The day started as a bright sunny day. However, it started to rain together with the sun shinning, on and off. We almost wanted to call off the meet up with Ruey Loon from 36 Frames but luckily we did not.

36 Frames offer wedding photography and videography and is located at Keong Saik Road. Tot we would lose our way coz we did not consult the map beforehand but luckily the map at the MRT station is good enuff. Passed by Hotel 1929 that Nana raved about (the molten chocolate cake at Amber) and was surprised at how small the hotel looked. Kekeke.. KIV for 36 Frames.. The price is abit steep but if the rest are unable to produce work like them, I would think it is worth it.

Hop on the train and one stop to Vivocity. We decided to just have a quick meal before heading home for the last episode of Penguin Daddy ( I think the actual name is Daddy at home or something, Channel 8 everynight at 9pm).

Settled for Dian Xiao Er coz we really cant think of anything else to eat. It was either Kimochi, Marche or this. Kinda sick of Sushi Tei by now :P

My Favourite 2 Egg Vege... Century Egg (I hate that), Salted Egg (My Fav) with Spinach I think.. Ro eats the century egg and the garlic and lets me have all the salted egg yolk.. Nice right?
My Favourite Crocodile Meat Soup. It was too saltish today. Guess they overdoes on the salt. This worm like looking thingy is always in the soup and Ro is repulsed by it. I think its a kinda herb. He did dare me to chew and eat it in return for a photo printer. However, the photo printer he mentioned is only $160 when I am aiming for one that is $349 so no deal.. whahahaha.. (Btw, its not really crocodile meat inside the soup, its all pork cubes!)

Oven Baked Prawns. I find this a tad ex coz it cost $19.80 for juz 2.5 prawns thus its only the 2nd time we have ordered this. Its nice though, dun get me wrong, juz that its too ex..
Sweet & Sour Pork! our first time trying it. Our normal order would be either the duck or the dong po rou (fatty pork belly). Not too bad, but No Signboard at the sky garden beats it hands down.
Cam Whoring..... Walked about Vivo and kuku Mphosis doesnt have my size for the slipper that I would like to have. So we proceed on to Starhub for darling to see what handphone he would like to change to. No Iphone for him now that i'm working at Microsoft.. kekeke.. i believe in being loyal to my co.. so i keep promoting windows mobile phone :)
There's this kuku promoter that made me roll my eyes.. Ro was asking him what is the different between the 2 phones, Nokia and Samsung and this guy replied indignantly..
" The difference is in pricing"
Of coz we know la! the price is there wat... canot tell us about the functions or the price plan meh???? Faints... Anyway mr ro is so undecided that we left empty handed.. Men!

Shokudoooo Doooo!!

Shokudo! My first time to Shokudo at City hall.. Been to the one at Heeren though.. And hungry Sherlyn ordered so much food! She couldnt even wait for us to take photos of the food...
From top right: Seafood nabe, Plain Rosti, Omu Rice with Pork cutlet, Tori Q, Agedeshi Toufu, Garlic fried rice & chicken wing!
Cam Whore before the feast begins...
We had trouble finding people to take photo for us, and Sherlyn being the ang gong kia she is, is too paisay to ask the guys sitting next table to help. I had to sacrifise my beauty to get the guy to help. Wahahaha.. he was too shocked by my ugliness that he took just one pic and quicky went back to his food..
We next tried asking the auntie who helps to clear table and both tries came out terrible. One was so shaken that our photo is blurred badly, another has her finger inside. But she was very nice to help us though as the place was quite busy with people all around..
I miss u gals.. The ang gong kias.. the ladies that burnt the midnight oil with me, discussing our projects online and gossips and all the nonsense that I can think of, you girls will hala with me.. I love u babes! Muacks! We must meet up soon!

Ice Edge Cafe...

Chance upon Bea's blog when Nana sent it to me to show the scrapbook Bea's frens have made for her and noticed one of the post is on Ice Edge Cafe. Seeing that it's so near my place, Ro and I decided to give it a try today for dinner.

Just 3 mins walk from Kovan MRT, Ice Edge Cafe is located at Simon Plaza. Tucked behind the current construction site of Kovan Residences, its no wonder anyone would have missed it.

Nice cosy ambience in hues of orange and black..

Colorfully decorated black board that shows the daily promotions.

Free Wi-fi for endless internet surfing...

Comfy leather chair for you to use if you're just having desserts and drinks.

Our order, Mushroom soup ($4.50) for a start. Nice tiny chucks of mushroom with a dap of cream that shows it is home-made. Ro would have prefered it to be much thicker, chunky like soup spoon. The garlic bread that is given FOC but is rock hard. We had to break it into small parts and soak it in the soup.

Our usual poison, Camomile tea.. ($2.50)

My favourite no matter where i go. Calamari ($8.50). The batter is light and crispy. Ro doesnt really like it coz of the spices used (basil leaves). But I have to rave about the dip sacue. its light tangy tomato sauce that enhances the flavor of the calamari. Do it my way, first dip mayonaise den the tomato sauce. Wonderful!

The Romana pizza ($16) that was reccomended by the waiter. I'm so goin to come back to try the other pizzas. they have both Italian and Japanese pizza and they're huge! We doggy-bag the balance 2 pieces home.Pigyg's motto: There's always space for dessert! Check out the variety of ice-cream!
Classic ice-cream: $3.20, Premium ice-cream: $4.80

Our choice after testing a few? Mao Shan Wang.. YUM!!!! Good! Good! The cup may seem small, but they packed it full all the way with ice-cream thus it is very worth the money!

All in all, the bill only came up to $36.30. Cheap cheap! I'm so going back for their other pizza and pasta and ice cream and everything!!!
