Last day of 2010..

Mr Ro's treat for our very last dinner in 2010. Shokutsu 10 @ Nex we went. The mall's swarmed with people as usual.

Tontei Japanese restaurant. Mummy wanted to have Katsu.

Pretty empty for now as we were early at 6pm. Nex is crazy! With so many restaurants, it is still at least a half hour queue wait for dinner if you come at 7pm.

Salty Chawamushi. I still prefer Sushi Tei's.

Free flow of salad/vegetable. Honey pot holds the sauce to the salad.

Rowan's order of black pork shabu shabu. Huge set that fills the tummy up with excess.

Black pork Katsu. One with mushroom sauce, the other without. I prefer without. Don't like anyone messing with my katsu.

Aunt Jinny was alone at home. Mae Sie had to attend a wedding and Uncle Benny went MBS for concert. Today's her 5th day here at Nex this week. Yep, today is Friday. She has been here everyday starting Monday. LOL! And here I am thinking I frequent Nex too often.

Pretending to be in Japan. Two losers. LOL! Checked out the doggie cafe at the skypark after dinner and it's decided that we will bring Mr Button here for lunch tomorrow!

Loads of kids walking through this mist arcs in their swimming costumes.

Not to mention sitting and waiting for the huge cup to be filled and splash water over. I immediately thought of Nana's Rachel. Perhaps Nana can bring her here to have fun with Gor Gor. The floor is amazingly porous and dries up immediately. Too afraid to get wet, I did not venture over. My New Year's count down was done at my door. The moment my mum slot in the key to our house, fireworks rang around the neighbourhood. Seng Kang and Punggol both had fireworks display. I love my peaceful countdown. How about you?

Yomenya Goemon

Japanese Spaghetti we had. The men wanted to go for something good while Gen was not around. LOL!

Mr Albert's recommendation. He said it's good and healthy.

Lunch set comes with the salad bar. I love the tomatoes, corn and edemame, not to mention the mayonnaise.

Richard and Albert's choice of pasta - Beef and crispy lotus roots. This is soy sauce and butter based.

My choice of Avocado with shrimp in cheese cream sauce. A tad too rich, or perhaps I had too much salad. Mr Birdie finished a portion of it for me. He was just joking that he wished Gen was around, that way he has more to eat. I'll be back, to try the soy sauce and butter based pasta. Perhaps with Mr Ro the next time.

Master Ky Turns One!

Here's our handsome young man trying out his Gap jeans. Mummy says the pair that he has are now capris. LOL!

Tampopo we went for dinner before heading to the roads for some Christmas lighting photography.

Here's Master Ky deliberating what to order from the menu. Spoilt for choices, he can only drool at the pictures.

Young man listening to Auntie Angie preach.

Introducing the participants of the night. Mummy Cindy looking all chirpy and excited.

Auntie Jolene, Master Ky's entertainer of the night.

Auntie Delia, the innocent bystander who tried carrying Master Ky for 5 minutes.

Auntie Angie, the stingy monster that gave Master Ky just 2 grains of rice.

Christmas tree at Taka!

Orchard road! It's Master Ky's first Christmas and we can see that he is enchanted by all the lights!

Happy 1st Birthday Kyston! Auntie Angie wishes you all the happiness and laughter in the world. May you be blessed with good health and grow up to be a fine young man! Kiss kiss!

~ White Rabbit ~

The White Rabbit, a restaurant & bar housed in an awe-inspiring and beautifully restored old chapel located off the Dempsey area. A year ago on Christmas, I had dinner with Ro here before he popped the question (Not here!). Here we are back again, on Boxing Day. A night to enjoy each other's company.
This soft bread melted my diet. Warm and fragrant, I had 3 of these while Ro stopped at 2.

Lobster sweetcorn chowder - a light summer corn chowder made with lobster served with slipper lobster and drizzled with tarragon oil. This soup is chunky yet smooth, delighting the palate.

Shared a starter of Brochette of Roasted Sea Scallops and Crispy Pork Belly served with wakame salad and a sesame soy dressing. The crispy pork belly was fabulous. I could hear my ear drums vibrate as I chew.

Beautiful night with wonderful ambiance. What more can I ask for on a boxing day.

We sat at the back last year. On top of the slight platform. This year's seat is so much better.

Lighting as usual is a problem. We still did not manage to have a nice picture of us together here. Better luck next year I guess.

Ro's choice of main for tonight, 48-hour Braised short ribs, lightly crisped and served sans bone with mashed potatoes and a rich Burgundy-styled red wine sauce made with bacon and mushrooms. I took over Ro's dish after he had half of it. Wonderfully marinated and soft. I have never loved ribs like these till today.

My choice of Pan Fried Sea bass with black olive crust, tapenade, french bean and sauce vierge. I would have preferred cod and passed it to Ro after I had 1/4 of it. Either that or stick to the wonderful Crispy Duck Leg Confit that I had last year.

Dimly lit chapel on a boxing day. Should I bow my head in prayers or concentrate on my food?

Souffle Rothschild to end off my wonderful Boxing Day dinner. Grand Marnier souffle served with poached apricots and apricot coulis. Wonderful sweet ending plus a short stroll along the roads at Dempsey on a cool Boxing Day night. I feel loved..

Doggy's Christmas!

A Christmas party for the dogs this year. All thanks to special additions Nana and Bizkate. Here's Ro and Button while we were on the way to Tommy's house. Mr Button was so excited.

Introducing Keegen Mak. My 3 year old nephew who is camera shy. Opening his prezzies with just one hand while shielding his face with the other.
Zachary on the left and Keegen on the right. Only a year's difference, these brothers do not look like each other. Elder brother looking like Daddy and younger one looking like Mummy. I would say God is fair in this case.

That's the stunt remote control car that I bought them. One car for each boy to prevent them from fighting. Tommy (my cousin) is sitting at the back reading the newspaper. Nope, he is not their dad, he's the uncle.

Nana (Tommy's dog) is a little Maltese girl and Mr Button cant take his eyes off her. Cute little Nana was in red tee too! Just like Mr Button. The little boy at the background is Bryan (Tommy's son). Yep, he's my nephew too.
Look how happy Mr Buttong is.

Family portrait on Christmas Day.
This is Gina my other cousin. Together with Bryan and Toto girl on the floor. Toto belongs to my cousin Janet who was not present today.
A Beyblade? Which is basically a spinning top. Funny how old toys get a slight revamp and sell like 30x more ex than before.

Winwin belongs to my 5th auntie. Told you it was a doggy's party. lol!

Swiss bake log cake that melted my heart. Rich in chocolate but not too sweet. I'm glad I made the right choice.

Peixi and brother came later at night to join us. Little Nana and Button too engrossed with the cake nearby.

This is Crystal with Nana. Crystal is my cousin Eric's daughter. Seconday one next year. She is not my oldest niece. Yes, I am old..
Vanessa (in white) with Bizkate and Crystal with Nana. Bizkate and Crystal are sisters actually.

And here are the 3 original babies that have now been promoted to senior citizens. They now look huge beside the 2 small puppies. Button in red, Winwin in blue and Toto in skirt. LOL!

Merry Christmas everyone! We enjoyed our Christmas. How about you?
