I tried and chose...

I tried and tried many many gowns today! White wedding gowns and evening gowns. Too bad no photography is allowed but I will strive to steal some shots on my photo shoot!

Settled for a total of 6 gowns. 3 white ones and 3 evening gowns for the indoor shoot on the 20th. Got a lilac color bling bling gown the is halter neck but bare back, a beige like color one, which will come out looking like gold color in the photo, that is shapeless (i think) and another grey gown that is has can can in it. I have to chose 3 more gowns for my outdoor shoot on the 21st. Luckily I have already shortlisted a black toga for my outdoor shoot thus, just 2 more gowns. Probably another white wedding gown and a red evening gown.

Anybody wan to tag along and take candid shots for me? Its going to be hard work given the hot weather outside during the outdoor shoot. :)

Tom Yum Kung Fu.. Kung Fu Fighting...

Met up with Nana to try the famous Tom Yum Kung Fu that Wendy's been raving about. Might be a coincidence, Nana had some Kung Fu Fighting at work. (Verbally. she very demure one k!)

The little shop feels like little Thailand. With pictures of Thailand, paintings of Buddha, hand painted cement wall and soft Thai music playing in the background. Even the staffs are Thai!

Have a look at Thai's steamboat. Isn't their apparatus cute? The dome at the top is for BBQ-ing of your food. This traditional steamboat is functioned by charcoal.

Here's the share of the smallest size. $30. Suitable for 2 pax. The pork is well marinated and the soup is delish! Flavourful chicken stock that has no msg! Point to note though, i was perspiring all the way while eating. Maybe cause the steam was blowing towards my direction but it is quite warm there. So, dress light if heading there.

On the Necterine we proceed as they were closed the last time we went over. Chose to sit on the outside as the inside only had high chair. Peony Jade for Nana and Strawberries and cream for me. Rich chocolate truffle managed to perk Nana up just a little but for me, I was still perspiring. Perhaps its the makings of the antibiotics that I am taking. But, perspiring perspiring I was!

Not only was I perspiring, I was having a bad hair day. Look at my hair in the above picture. Duno y the top so sharp. Nana say i look like avartar! In any case, I now know for a fact: Canon cameras make my face look fat! LOL!

Lots accomplished!

Woke up super early to go to the temple with my parents and Mae Sie n family. The weather was horrible! Super duper warm and humid. Add on the queues in the temple? Just plain wonderfully HOT! Lol...

Took a cat nap of 30 mins after reaching home and off Ro & I went to tanjong pagar in search of a make up artist. Neo Liren is the choice for us. She's candid, direct and offers loads of advice. Very taiwanese kind of character, never mincing her words and most say she has a diva attitude. But she would work fine I feel. I will be able to put her in her place I'm sure.

So with the engaging of Liren, it's one more item off my to do list. Not much to-do, to begin with, but better to complete them asap. Off to santouka and back home for an early night.

Lots of stuff accomplished on a short short Sunday. Temple. Check! Make up artist. Check! Ro's craving of Santouka. Check!

On a completely random thing: Here's a picture of the red packets that rolex gave. Came in a box of 10. Very very thick material and classy too! I like! Mum gave them all out during CNY. I'll definitely keep the one she gave me!

Happy birthday to all!

The 7th day of the lunar new year is considered all human mankind's birthday. Not too sure how it came about but this is the day that most of the Chinese will celebrate. As per our usual practise, we head over to my aunt's house where she entertain us with her good cooking skills.

At the top u can see a pot of almost finished lagsane, the white pot of bacon mushroom spaghetti and the transparent pot of seafood spaghetti.

Here's a picture of the lagsane before it was being attacked. The 4 corners of the pot are the most coveted pieces as they have most of the crispy crust.

My aunt's famous Yu Shen. We always have it on the 2nd and 7th day of the lunar new year. Made from fresh vege and sauce altered to our liking. Neither too sweet nor too sour. She specially bot the apparatus to string the veges out.

The old folks having some camwhore session. They wanted a photo with the God of Wealth on the wall.

Our family portrait. All immediate members of my dad's side. My dad was in the loo when the photo was taken. LOL! Small family we have as my grandma only had 3 kids. My dad being the eldest have 2 kids, followed by my aunt who has only 1 daughter den after, my uncle who has 3.

The wong family (Wong fei hong) has the invincible shadow kicking (Wu ying Jiao). So does the Lee family and this picture proves it! We have shadow boxing (Wu ying shou)! The plate looks small but it is actually roughly 20inch in diameter. Bought specially for our yearly Lou Hei.

Here's a picture of Poco and me. And Matthew who wanted to take a photo with poco too. After clearing up most of the stuff, and the folks had enuff of nespresso, some of them proceed on with a mah jong session. I played just one round but won like $20. LOL! Heng ar!! Here's to more good luck for the year. Huat ar!!

In a market?

This is what I noticed when i step into the office today. Roughly about 8 stalks of vege hanging overhead in other department's ceilings.. lol! Its lion dance day! Totally forgotten about it. My department has none. Guess we aint too excited about it.
Spot this hello kitty ang bao nearest ot me. By one of the facilities lady. Nice and cute!
The lions posed for us to take a photo. So cute right? It's in my fav red color.
Seriously, i think the lions are overworked. I can see the lion trembling and the hand that reaches out for the vege is also trembling. I guess covering 7 levels of the OMB building aint no joke.
The lion even posed with the seat's occupant! I likey! cute hor? Ok, now back to doing my report. Tata lion!

Perils of a being a new mummy...

Met up with Cindy after work today for our scrapaholic shopping. New arrivals on Thursdays.

After hearing the perils of being a new mummy, previous findings have been proven to be absolutely real. The feeling of being a atm milk machine, the difficulties with the in laws, the pain, the doubts of self worth, the fats & weights issues and the nonsupporting or spouse who can never understand what you are going thru.

Will you want to be a mummy? For now, the answer is no. Too comfortable a life now to want to be boggled down by a kid and also the various problems and self doubts that will come..

In future? I seriously don't know if i will change my mind.

How about u? Do you want to be a mummy?

Happy first working day!

Happy new year everyone. Is everyone back at the office? This is my usual practice. To clean the tables and everything up before the last working day and to place a pair of orange with an ang bao on the table. This way, you'll be greeted with a 'kai gong' ang bao when u're back! Good working luck and prosperity awaits! Happy working everyone!

Brotzeit @ Vivo...

Brotzeit, a German beer bar & restaurant at Vivo. Tanks of empty beer mental barrels lined outside the restaurant.

Alfresco and indoor dining for your pleasure. Take your pick but best to make a reservation as it can be pretty packed.

The cool bar with tall high chairs. Do not attempt if you have short legs. Lol!

Spicy potato wedges (non spicy for us, special order). Fried to a crispy outer shell and moist fluffy mashed potato inside.

Grilled dory fish with mushroom ragout sauce. Not a fan of dory as many of those that I tried have this weird taste but Brotzeit's dory rocks. Especially love the sauce. Used it even for my fries and wedges.
Humongous pork knuckles that is not in the menu. Do not attempt this alone. Four of us shared this together with the dory and we ended up feeling full. Maybe coz the oldies never take much. The meat is tender but the skin... ohhhh.... the skin... its so crispy i cant hear any noise expect for the crackling of the skin when i chew it.

The Oldies (Mama and Aunt..)

Oldies-to-be
PS: I like this pic, my face look thin! lol!

My son's new year greeting...

I woke up on new year's day to see my son by the side of my bed, decked out in the latest fashion, the toga.. lol!

Again one of his arm managed to escape the sleeve and here he is, look all sleepy and silly in his messy jay chou jacket.

I can foresee the year of the tiger bringing lots of joy and laughter, all thanks to my baby boy... :)

Happy new year's eve!

Happy new year's eve. How is everyone's reunion dinner? My family usually have reunion lunch instead of dinner as we have to pray to the ancestors.

This year, I manage to scrap 1.5 layout on new year's eve. Remember to visit my scrap blog. Link at the side of this blog :)

I also found a very greedy boy! Look at the picture above! My dad's having his late night dinner in front of the tv and this little boy wants to share his food! lol!

Here's wishing everyone a wonderful year ahead. Huat ar!

Before and After....

Just thought to post this up since my dad took like 1 week to complete it (Roughly an hour a day). Forgot to take the truely before picture though.. the whole god of wealth actually is just the color of the below picture's face. It's a nian gao.
Work in progress. The front.

Work in progress - The side.

Tadah! The completed God of wealth!

The side.
He's so proud of it he made it his hp's wall paper.. Talk about ultimate bo-liao-ness!

Super dog with Super frens!

A house warming gift demanded by Eleanor. lol~! A pair of mandarin ducks to help find her true love. Duno y she still need true love when she just gotten her very own condo.. Money is all that matters what..:P

The last we all met was in Jan 2009 and Daren kinda went MIA from time to time. Eleanor and I are online everyday during office hours and thus still manage to keep in touch.

I like his Evisu tee.. Daren's now taking his part time degree. talk about huo2 dao4 lao3 xue2 dao4 lao3, never too old to learn. lol!
Had fun drilling uncle chew on all the happenings in his life and also a time for me to update him about me. Hmmm, come to think about it, nothing much was said from Eleanor... Maybe she's hiding a secret life... hmm....
In any case, Eleanor wants everyone to know that her sausage is much longer den mine. LOL! A big thank you to uncle chew for the dinner :)

PS: My head looks big in all pictures coz Eleanor wants her head to look small. Had to move forward while she pushes her head back to make it comparatively smaller. Look so weird rite?

CS Asia Reunion Lunch...

The all exclusive China Club at 168 Robinson Road. All decked out in authentic Oriental style...

I cant help but associate the red stars to Mao Zhe Dong.. A prominent figure of China and a prominent symbol of the star...

A picture of us girls excluding Kathleen who was engaged on the line.
From left: Jesslyn, Hwee Hoon, Melissa, Genevieve, Me, Shaeen and Yvonne.

Our first dish. Lo Hei without peanuts. Pretty good and some of us did not even remember to put the peanut given in a separate bowl. Vincent's allergic to nuts thus the no-nuts Lo Hei served at our table.
Long strands of vege with minimal amount of plum sauce and orange oil (loosely translated from Cantonese).
Broccoli, Dried Oyster, Fa Cai and mushroom. Individually served to each of us.
Sharks fin broth that has only a few strands of fins. A tad too starchy. The chef had overdosed on his cornstarch.
Lotus Roots, Sweet Pea and black fugus. The plainest dish of all. Lol!
Cod fish is soya sauce. A simple dish yet fragrant. However, the degree of freshness differs between each individual. Mine was not too bad, could be a tad more fresh, Gen's was bad. The meat stuck to each other (normally that's what happens if its not cooked or unfresh) and had a sticky gluey feel to the palate. Yucks..
Honey chicken i guess. The guys felt that its too tough. I only like the skin.. lol! unhealthy me!
5 grains fried rice. Not too bad, just a plate of normal fried rice.
The nian gao that Vincent packed home. Everyone's reminiscing about their own hometown's version of nian gao.

Red bean soup with just one dumpling.

The overall verdict? Not worth the money. The food's just plain normal food that you can get at most restaurants. And even though it's located at level 52, I dun find the view spectacular. Its the exact same view that I have in my ex co located at Fuji Xerox. Lol! The exact same feel of packing lunch to eat in the office last time. Talk about exclusivity.
