Hippety Hop... (Christmas Part II)

Off we went to ION to shop after resting for awhile. Decided to try out the modern peking duck as my mouth was feeling just a tad itchy after all the walking about and I didnt spot any clothes that I fancy.
Was surprised to see a queue for it as the last time me and nana were there, there wasnt any queue!
OMG... Look at how little the meat is. the guy still whack it flat before serving..

Cold cold peking duck whose skin is not crispy and whose meat is not tender. No more next time.
Ro had to finish most of it coz I detest it! Ok la, not detest but i normally refuse to eat food which is not nice. Ro on the other hand will finish everything up, so as not to waste food. LOL.
On our way back to the hotel before we head out for dinner, we noticed that the road was closed. From Tangs to Paragon there are hoards of people on the street!
See? In front of Tangs...
Loads of people and police!
Guess what's happening? Line dance! Yes! They closed the road to hold line-dance for Christmas celebrations. Hoards of people moving in unison.. No line dance for me thank you coz they basically only move their feet.. Kekekekekeke...
Check out the crowd. Orchard is packed full of people! Japanese, Caucasians, people of different ethnic groups all shopping together in harmony!
Rest and caught some tv before cabbing down to white rabbit.

Long wanted to visit White Rabbit, a restaurant and bar housed in an awe-inspiring and beautifully restored old chapel located off Dempsey area. What better day than Christmas day!

The menu.. Simple yet interesting list of appetizers and mains.
Ambiance of the restaurant. I have to side-track abit. I was wearing bonito-chico dress and the moment I came in, guess who i saw? One of the founders/owner of Bonito-chico! That's her boyfriend in the picture. Yep, sitting so close. i was wondering why is that guy looking at me and smiling and I noticed that Rachel is just sitting opposite him! Tot they should be used to seeing people wearing their clothes by now but I soon understood why the hype. The girl at the table next to me? She's wearing their dress too! The guess-inspired number. Whaahahaha.. No wonder they got so excited.
I tot the place felt romantic. Not sure about what others feel, but the nice Christmas tree, the dim orange light together with the candlelight on the table, I tot it's pretty cozy and romantic at the same time. Plus the spacious walkways gave the place breathing space.
Our Lobster Sweetcorn Chowder to share. A light summer corn chowder made with lobster served with slipper lobster and drizzled with tarragon oil. I love the lobster. though small, it is sweet and fresh.
Ro was supposed to order the Escargot Ravioli but not sure what prompted him to order this in error. Dressed crab, freshly handpicked crab tossed with mayonnaise, tomato jelly and avocados. The jelly in actual fact is tasteless, but the crab is fresh and cold. I likey!
My order of Scallop Linguine. Pan seared scallops served with al dente linguine tossed with garlic and fresh herbs. Light and filling at the same time. Delicious!
Ro's order of Crispy duck leg confit. Tender confit of duck leg served with Anna potato, braised red cabbage and thyme jus. Abit too much according to Ro.
Got a waiter to take a picture of us. We have too many individual photos.
Blur lor.... kwa, kwa kwa.... try again...
Still blur! I give up... maybe its time for a new cammie??
Holding on to our never say die attitude, we asked the waitress to give us a hand when she served us our dessert. She's so nice can! Said she will try to help us take the Christmas tree too! With flash, too bright so try again..

Tadahhh... Nice?? Ya, behind me got ghost.. old chapel ma, what do you expect? Sure must have ghost to complete the dinner you know? :P

Warm chocolate cake to finish our meal with. Molten hot chocolate cake served with fresh passionfruit, passionfruit ice cream and creme fraiche.
Nice chocolate oozing out.. I wana go again! I wan!!

Christmas Day !! (Part I)

Checked into Hilton on Christmas day. This is how the lobby looks. Simple yet elegant decor.

The deli at the lobby. Do you know Hilton is famous for their cheese cakes? I love their cheese cake. Still cant find any other cheese cake that is able to match their standard.
That's Ro checking in for us. Check out our overnight bag. Super heavy lor, the bag, not the items inside.
Our room. Clean and bright feel. I dislike hotel rooms that feel dark and eerie. Luckily this room feels bright. (Especially since there was an accident in the hotel a few months ago).
The tv that has bad reception and the nice glass desk for people who are on business trip.

The mini bar. Didn't touch anything there except to boil water. Hmm... i really did not touch anything there coz Ro was the one who boiled the water.. whahahahaha...
The small bathroom. You know there are some hotel bathrooms that will keep reminding you of those horror murder shows? Hilton's toilet doesnt give that kind of creeps. Thumbs up.
Our view.
Look at the pebbles that they laid. If someone were to try going out, that person would slip and fall on rainy days or lose their balance coz it hurts so much!
That's us on the small arm chair. I like this picture. Can't really see my dark eye rings but definitely can see the pimple that is growing on my right cheek.
My Christmas prezzie on the bed. Wrapped by Ro himself. Nice?
Huge bed right? Can fit four of me! Provided nobody kicks in sleep. Hahahaha... I wan a bed like this for my new house.. Ro will have to help me change the bedsheets though..
Look at what they provide... Shaving kit, dental kit, vanity kit, bath tablet, shower gel, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner and mouth wash.
All from Crabtree and Evelyn ! The 2nd brand I like, other than Locitane.
The mini swimming pool at the rooftop. Just a few families there.

The view from the pool side.
I have expected Hilton to be much older but surprisingly, the furniture and fittings of the hotel are much much newer than Holiday Inn Park View! So glad that it was an uninterrupted stay coz my mum keep telling me the groom that fell to his death was staying in level 10 and thats the level we stayed. Talk about old wives' tales.. Duh...

Christmas Prezzies from the Office!

Christmas presents from the office before unwrapping!
Box of chocolate from Melissa, Santa Clause pill box from Ivan, Body spray and lip balm from Hwee Hoon, chocolate cornflakes from Jesslyn, Crabtree hand cream from Nicole (ex- colleague) and set of chopstick and table maps from Yvonne.
My Favourite present out of this lot? Crabtree hand cream from Nicole!

The 7th...

This is a picture of my future extended family. (duno right to say it this way or not). I am thankful for uncle and auntie for accepting who I am. I have heard countless stories of monster-in-laws and Ro being the only child, makes these stories even more scary! But thank god, they are nothing like what I hear from others. My future in-laws are very supportive of whatever we do, never questioning our decisions and most of all, make me feel like I am part of them.

Thank you Uncle and Auntie for being ever so nice and wonderful. Both of you are the model in-laws that any girl would want. I feel so blessed to have both of you. (of coz their daughter-in-law oso super nice, canot find elsewhere lor!)

Christmas Celebrations Begins Right Now!

My very first time working from home in Microsoft and I overslept! All coz of the nice rainy weather. Jumped out of bed at 10am and on my lappy to start working. Kuku Internet got lost halfway and I had to communicate with Yvonne through the phone. Thank god the problem was solved. Yeah! Early Christmas prezzie for her.

Logged off at 12pm sharp and proceed to bathe my baby. Smelly little rascal was actually quite well-behaved today. No whining and no growling. I manged to bathe and dry him all by myself. Proceeded to vacuum the floor and mop the whole house. Yea, the title of this post doesn't really match what i'm writing now. I'm more of a maid right? But fret not, when I finish all my post for Christmas, you will totally agree hands down! By the way, my baby is such a smart boy can?!? He actually knows which part of the floor is still wet and knows how to walk away from that area, only going back to that area to sit when it's dry! Talk about a smart mummy! I think brains run in my family (ie, Button & I) whahahaha..

Aunt came over with her homemade chocolate bread and I passed her the prezzie. She likes it! kekeke.. so does Mae Sie when she came over after work. Off we went to Punggol Park, Bliss cafe for our Christmas eve Fest.

That's the bar counter that serves the drinks. Many will come for beer and wine.

The ambiance there. It's mainly alfresco dinning. Too bad we didnt manage to secure the waterfront dining area. The shelter has lots of fan and is much more cooling. Its almost always full house on weekend and on public holidays.

The oldies for the night.. whahahaha.. My aunt on the left and my mum on the right.

Mae Sie and I. We took like 5 shots to get it right coz the lamp post behind us keep interfering with the picture, shining light between the 2 of us. Coincidentally, we're both in grey!

Don't ask me why he looks so blur.. Maybe sick of taking photos.. whahaha..

This Caucasian is posing with her mocktail, daydream. kekeke.. She's going to change her hair color soon! This is the discoloration of her hair dye..

Ro with his Erdinger Dark.. Match his shirt right?

The party of 5! Funny though the waiters all keep serving only like 4 sets of cups, cutlery etc. I think Ro's invisible. Thats the huge cheese fondue that we ordered. Madly delicious lor! Impossible to finish if only 2 person though.

A portion of the food we ordered. There's the cheese fondue (comes with garlic bread, taco chips, fries, onion ring, calamari), Cris-cut cheddar fries (Mae Sie & me's fav!), Deep fried mushroom, Chicken Wings, two Christmas set and my Chocolate Dinosaur Sundae.

The main of the Christmas set. Cod Fillet. the fillet's so thick that each of us had a nice serving although it is shared amongst 5 of us. I love cod fish!

The turkey set. The turkey's fat! I still prefer turkey done by my aunt. too bad her oven passed away this year. Let's hope for the best next year!

The dessert that comes with the set dinner. Not too sure what it is but it's super sour!!!!!!!!!!! Wahhh, just looking at it makes all my saliva come out again lor!
A slow stroll back home after the wonderful dinner and Ro didn't even stop me from singing! I'm a happy gal!
