Nothing is forever....

I went to work in a bright and chirpy mood today.. but things can only go downhill....

Ordered beehoon set at Happy Belly thinking that it would only cost $1.80 as per the phamplet they gave out for July's promotion, only to be informed that it would be $2.80 as the promo was applicable only for dine-in. How can!! The phamplet nv say lor!

Huge pack of bee hoon made me lose my appetite for lunch. In any case, the news I heard over lunch made me completely upset. So upset I couldn't finish my ramen. :(

I feel unjust.

I feel un-appreciated.

I don't get why the manager is always in the limelight when she does not perform well at work. Even my Financial Controller(FC) don't get it.

Why is it that she does things so slowly, suck at excel (a basic pre-requisite for finance staff) and knows next to nothing, but earns much more than me and is so well liked by the bosses in Paris?

Maybe I am being too presumptous to think that she is not performing better than me.

Maybe there are things that I need to learn from her.

Maybe the bosses just like her 'innocence'.

I don't get it. I really don't know.

For someone who can't even handle basic work and is so slow that she always gets scolding by my FC, I don't get it why the bosses think that she is good.

Got the news that I might lose my job as they would like to merge all the entities. It would be between the Manager and me. But they have plan to sponsor her studies, either degree or ACCA, as her technical skills is very poor. She has a degree in her country but it is not recognised here.

Why sponsor her?

Why not sponsor my CPA?

Why does she get to stay and not me?

Why isit her performance review is much poorer than me but she gets all the benefits?

Maybe cause she used to work in our co in her country, thus the big bosses know more about her.

Maybe cause she has the working 'luck'.

Maybe cause they like it when she acts innocent.

Its a battle of the 'Whys' and the 'Maybes'.

What I know I can do is to BUCK UP. I am going to search actively for jobs. Just to prepare for the worst. This aint the best co that I've worked for, but what I know is that there are worst. I hope, like what they say, it is all a suggestion, an alternative. I hope it doesn't come true!

The manager once told me. She read this book, the secret, and it talks about self-fulfilling prophecy. She now puts on her tagline that she has an abundant life. And it seems that it is coming true. Perhaps I should borrow her book to read :P

In any case, NO NEGATIVE ENERGY ALLOWED.

I firmly believe that nothing can beat me down. Lose my job? I'll get one on my own!
No worries! I have loving family and friends who are around for me!

And I seriously mean goodbye to this seat! We're shifting seats and I'll b moving on the 16th July 09! Stay tuned for the pic of my new seat. It wont be as nice as it is the most exposed seat in the office but nvm! I hope it wont be too long till I move OUT of the co! kekekekekeke....

Wedding Bells... Ding Dong... Ding Dong...

Yes!! We're getting married!!!(but he hasn't proposed yet)

Ro and I visited Rasa Sentosa on 8th November for the wedding venue. we're really kiasu coz we wanted to ensure that we will be able to secure the place for our wedding on 10th Oct 2010!

we were supposed to meet the events manager at 12 but we were late. ro says its my fault but i beg to differ :P in any case we reached at 1230 but kelvin, the events mgr only came to meet us at 1245. he's late too! heehee..

first, he brought us to see the reception area, which is just next to the lobby. i like that as people would be directed to the respective areas once they reached the hotel by shuttle bus. then, he showed us the pavillion. there was a set up for a company dinner for 90pax and the room is still spacious enough to sit another 40 pax without being blocked by the pillar. in any case we will be holding a buffet lunch thus everyone is encouraged to walk about. the pavillion is spacious and bright due to the full glass walls that overlooks the sea. from the pavillion, you would be able to see the nice scenery surrounding rasa sentosa. you will b able to see the beach, the pool and the very nice design of the hotel. the only minus point is the low ceiling but kelvin says that once the lights are on, the ambience is enhanced. ro and i went back to take some photos and were quite sure this was our choice. we like the view very much and we're sure that our guest would enjoy it while having their lunch too.

kelvin den brought us to the wonderful solemnization venue, the very reason of us chosing rasa sentosa. the big big tree that cast wonderful shelter from the sun for the guest. the nice white fence area that mimicks the western wedding venues. the wonderful sea breeze and the beautiful sea as the backdrop of our solemnization. i'm sold! the only worry is that if it rains, i will hv to hold it at the pavillion but one should always focus on the bright side. in fact, on my way home today, i've thought of the theme for my wedding! roses & feathers or fur.. the romantic fairytale wedding!

we were shown the ballrooms but we didnt like it coz it was at the basement and the place looks dark n gloomy. another reason we didnt take the ballroom is that it looks like traditional hotel wedding ballrooms with the 4 walls. it was tempting to take the ballroom as there wasnt any pillars but we thought since we're paying so much for the scenery we might s well enjoy it fully by choosing the pavillion!

i'm so glad we've settle on Rasa Sentosa but there seems to be more and more hidden cost. just yesterday, it suddenly pop into my mind if we have to pay for the projectors and yes, we do! it cost $400+ just to rent one from the hotel :(. i wonder if we should source for other places. flowers for decor of the solemnization place, the flower arc & 6 flower balls, cost us $780 already. if i were to use my theme of flowers with feather/fur, i would hv to outsource. i guess i still have alot of home to be done!

first thing first, a wedding to-do list!

Life's tough decisions...

I tendered my resignation yesterday. felt really terrible. i knew irvin needs my help most now but i left to pursue my other interest. i was really nervous when i tendered so i blurted out saying that the co is paying me more. of coz that is not the biggest reason but it certainly is in my consideration. the new job will add on to my portfolio coz it involves the setting up of proper business processes which i am quite keen on. i see it as a good career advancement coz to be a leader, you muz be able to set up processes that others can follow.

i will always remember his disappointed look that was on his face yesterday. i felt like i've betrayed him but luckily he did assure me that he is only disappointed if i left coz of money but of coz he respect my decision if it is beneficial to my career advancement. i am really grateful to him for his guidance these two years and hope that i will be able to remain on such good terms with him. i believe after he has gotten used to the idea of me leaving, he will be able to revert to his old self. if only he can go over with me....

Almost gotten a Sony Vaio yesterday..

Ro was very nice n offered to pay for me. but i am abit hesitant coz i am afraid i will under-utilise it and cause him to waste money.






There are 2 model, one that cost $1699 (only white color) and another that is only slightly different in spec that cost $1999 (this has red, white & pink).

I really like the laptops and crave to get one coz my old one has been down for a yr plus and my bro's taking his own sweet time to fix it.

Haven been going online coz i feel that there isnt any privacy cause i am currently using my mum's pc in the living room.

4) Do my study questions (I haven done it before though but will do tis sem)

Exactly what are the factors that one should consider in whether to get a lappy or not!!! It's givin me headache :(

Should i get a fujitsu instead? I like both sony & fujitsu lappy.. or should i juz send my lappy for servicing instead of waiting for my bro.. ARHHHH!!!!!!!!
